INDIAN COMPANY TOOK OVER AN EPL TEAM

Indian poultry firm, Venky's Limited is set to take over English Premier League (EPL) team Blackburn Rovers. In 39 years Venky's has gone from a small family business to Asia's largest poultry group. It is the supplier to McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut and Dominos pizza in India.

Dr B.V Rao launched the business in 1971.Pune-based Venkateshwara Hatcheries
Group, will be the first Indian firm to own an English Premier League club. The company is spending 40 million pounds (approx Rs 280 crore) to buy Rovers.

VH Group the largest Asian poultry group chairperson Anuradha J Desai said, "We expect to be the first Indian company to acquire a Premier League team. We are particularly delighted that the team is Blackburn Rovers, with whom we believe we have shared many values and ambitions, our company will be the first Indian firm to own an EPL club".
I hope this change in ownership will allow Rovers to spend reasonable funds in the transfer market. The club needed investment to progress.Rovers fans will now be hoping that this approach will bring results on the football field.
Rovers have not got any investment from their owners and have struggled in recent season to compete on a financial level with their rivals.
It is a prestigious moment for everybody and we should cherish this moment.
Mr Rao,the only way of attracting Indian fans is to ensure that Rovers should atleast remain at top side of the table. It should try to beat team like Chelsea,Manchester United ONCE which is quite difficult.
