FIFA: coming to India and China

India and China,here we come
Football's governing body is all set to expand its business in India and China.

"The next regions (where) we need to gain a foothold in are China and India"
Sepp Blatter, president of FIFA's governing body told the Swiss magazine DieWeltwoche.

If this happens, then it will be a blessing for the Indian and Chinese soccer players and fans.
It will work amazingly for the development of the game in these nations. It will
have double benefits. One for the countries and the other for the governing body.It is definitely going to make its presence felt. Now it will truly cover the entire world.

I am a die hard football fan and cannot wait to see my favourite players to come and play
matches in my home country.

BEST INDIAN PLAYERS OPEN FOR AUCTION IN IPL

IPL has always been a much awaited affair. It has been in news always. Sometimes for the magnificent inaugural ceremonies and sometimes for its controversial issues.

Well, now it’s in news for its franchises letting go the best Indian players,Kumble,Dravid,Gambhir and former Indian captain 'Ganguly'. They are now open for auction.

This come as a surprise but one has become used to such happenings. How can Shah Rukh let our very own ' DADA' exit from Kolkata Knight Riders? Well one thing is for sure that KKR is definitely going to incur some loss when it comes to its audience. I wonder how the stadiums will look when KKR matches would be played.

Another spinning decision comes from Royal Challengers Bangalore, who set free the top players of the team Kumble and the Wall Dravid. And this too, to give Virat Kohli a place in the team. I doubt whether the team will be able to deliver the same performance or not?

As for the Delhi Daredevils, not retaining Gambhir in the team may prove to be risky as he played tremendously well in the last seasons.
It surely is a major disappointment factor among the fans of the respective teams. It took me some time to digest this fact but, I hope that these decisions be fruitful for the teams.
An opportunity to be grabbed by other teams though. Wishing luck to all IPL teams for 2011 and 2012 season.

WHY INDIA LACK IN SPORTS.

India is not performing well at Sports, this is the buzz we have always been hearing and complaining about. I strongly agree with the views of - Diptosh Majumdar, CNN-IBN and his blog "Sports culture lacking in India" http://ibnlive.in.com/news/sports-culture-lacking-in-india/27709-5.html

Our national game is Hockey, but do you really think we deserve to call it our national game? All most every second Indian is crazier about Cricket than our nation pride- Hockey. Ever thought, why our nation is degrading day by day when it comes to Sports? Is Cricket the only game played worldwide, thus are list stops right there? Obviously the answer is 'NO'. Then why do we see such a laid back attitude of Indians towards Sports, it is something to be questioned, not just to our government but to ourselves too.

The performance of India at the Common Wealth Games was remarkable, but that could have been better. We all are aware of the draw backs of the games and the preparation. It wasn't just the preparations of the venue that was carelessly handled, but even the preparations and the facilities given to the sports-persons were not up to the mark. We would have been more proud of India if it had performed in the similar manner at ASIAD GAMES too. India won a total of 101 medals at CWG and only 64 medals at ASIAD. Though the performance has been improved over the years, but we expect more from our nation.

We are looking forward for the day when Indians would be equally excited to the watch other games too, apart from Cricket and Football.

PROFESSION INTERCHANGED

In today’s world everything is possible. As technology is growing faster, so is the working environment. Everyone is trying their hands at multi-tasking, everybody wants just a little more, no one is satisfied by their present situation. My readers must be wondering, why am I discussing philosophy in sports section? Well such thoughts crossed through my mind while I was reading a blog on Salman Khan will face Rajinikanthhttp://www.bollywoodz.net/salman-khan-will-face-rajinikanth/

Let’s take a closer look on the interchange by taking the example of two separate professions -- MEDIA/CRICKET
Cricket: The Indian Cricketers play their roles better in front of camera than in the cricket field. It has been a very usual sight to see our cricketer’s campaigning for various brands rather concentrating on their game. Now, our cricketers are more admired than film actors when it comes to brand endorsements.
A Glimpse at Cricketers and Brands endorsed by them :
Sachin Tendulkar : Boost, Visa Card, Saatchi
Mahinder Singh Dhoni : Aircell, Maxx Mobile
Virender Sehwag : Mayur Suitings
Yuvraj Singh: Investors Clinic, Birla Sun Life Insurance
Saurav Ganguli : Tata, Hero Honda
Rahul Dravid : Reebok, Sansui, Hutch
Harbhajan singh: Neo Sports Broadcast Private Limited, Swiss luxury watch company Movado
Zaheer Khan : Dabour Glucose
Kapil Dev: Olive Telecom
and the list goes on ...

On the contrary, Cricket have been ruling over the media industry, the film stars are all set to launch themselves in the cricket world. Yes, you are thinking in the right direction, we are taking about the CCL (Celebrity Cricket League). Sohail Khan productions have tied up with CCL, where his team would be playing against the south. Rajinikanth and Bollywood macho Khan Salman would face each other if things go as per the plan. The Bollywood team has been named as: ‘Mumbai Heroes’

The members of the team are as mentioned below:
Suniel Shetty- Captain,Riteish Deshmukh (Vice-Captain), Sohail Khan and Salman Khan along with other actors like: Harman Baweja, Aftab Shivdasani, , Arbaaz Khan, Kunal Khemu, Aashish Chowdhry, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sonu Sood, Makarand Deshpande (Wicket Keeper), Shabbir Ahluwalia, Vikas Kalantri, Irrfan Khan, Angad Bedi, Ankush Choudhary, Apoorva Lakhia, Kabir Sadanand.
It is anticipated that, Celebrity Cricket League Pvt Ltd (CCL) games will be held in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
It has been a pleasure to watch our favourite cricketers performing on big screen, now it is going to be more exciting to watch our Film Stars performing in the Cricket Field.

IPL3 salaries still 'DUE'

Kings XI Punjab, owned by Preity Zinta, Ness Wadia and Mohit Burman have not yet cleared the dues of its players  like Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan.
It has been reveled from the sources that Yuvraj was initially paid Rs 1 crore in August and he is still waiting for the rest of his salary, which is more than Rs 3 crore.
Pathan, also has not been paid at all for last season.Kings have given an undertaking that they will pay the players "as soon as the BCCI pays us for IPL 3". BCCI owes Kings Punjab an amount of  Rs 22 crore for IPL3.

Whenever the players demanded their salaries, Kings expressed helplessness saying their bank account was seized by the income tax authorities due to service tax issues.
We will pay the players once we receive the payments," a Kings official said

The IPL rule book says that if a team fails to pay its players on time, the board has the discretion to pay the players from the franchise's revenue share.
Rajasthan royals  too crossed the deadline of payment of the salaries to its players and have written "apology letters" to them.

It is a matter of concern. The players need to be paid for their work.BCCI needs to act quickly to ensure a release of the funds of teams. The delay in payment definitely puts the goodwill of the franchisee at stake, with the owners are constantly haunted with other issues.

Facebook Profile Redesigned

On Sunday night, Facebook's profile page got a major overhaul.
Facebook is redesigning the profile pages of its 500 million-plus users to make it more of a reflection of their real lives and emphasize one of the site's most popular features, photos.

Profile page now puts all the personal information at the top of the page and shows similarities between friends on the right side of it. For instance, if I visit my brother's page I can see a bunch of his recent photographs, I can see where he works, goes to school and when is his birthday. On the righthand side, there is a box about our friendship that includes how many friends we have in common, mutually tagged photos, etc.

The changes are meant to make it easier for users to tell their story - who they are, where they work, their life philosophy and the most important people in their lives. The changes place a bigger emphasis on visuals, from photos to images of users' interests.

This surprise is welcomed happily because facebook has now turned out to be a user friendly social networking site. It not only provides u with the ease and comfort of quickly searching through the profile but is also wite attractive in its appeal. Though it is a recent concept, but it has been accepted by many now.Even I found it to be interesting and wanted to find out new feature! So go ahead and experience it.
