GOODBYE MR MODI...

Lalit modi is all set to loose the chairmanship of IPL and also the post of president of the central zone,in BCCI,to his collegue Rajiv Shukla.Modi, was suspended as the chairman of the Indian Premier League with allegations of financial irregularities in the cash rich T20 league.

This is the good news for cricket as he took gentleman's game to a betting den.He should be locked behind bars. All the illegal asset which he gained from IPL should be recovered back from him which includes a private jet, a luxury yacht and a Mercedes S class and BMW cars.Lalit Modi used cricket and IPL as his own business.

BCCI should take the control of IPL,as it has already decided to convert its governing council into yearly system as is already in practice in its sub committees But it should try to maintain the same enthusiasm which IPL is known for.
Waiting to see IPL4 without Mr Modi.

"ARMY CALLED IN"...WO!..WO!!..WO!!!! Not For Any Security Issue...But For "CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE"

When the bridge collapses & country's image is at stake, army is called in. Shouldn't the PEOPLE OF INDIA call in the army when the governance of the country is falling????
The foot over-bridge which collapsed outside Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, is expected to be rebuilt within next couple of days with the Army beginning the work. The whole purpose of this bridge being constructed was to connect the parking lot of the stadium, with other side of the street,in Lodhi Road area in south Delhi.

Army on the special request of Delhi government took the charge.
The Army engineers came into action after receiving an SOS from the city Government to construct a Bailey bridge "at the earliest" so that common people could go inside the stadium without any hassle. The Bailey bridge is a portable pre-fabricated truss bridge.
The decision to seek the Army's help was taken at a high-level meeting which found that an alternative plan made by the PWD, for entry of spectators into the stadium from the south side, may create security concerns.

An army engineering regiment (with about 800 to 1,000 men) has started the work for the Bailey bridge
"We will complete the bridge within the timeframe and hand it over to the Games organisers," a colonel-rank officer said.
The decision to ask the Army to construct the bridge was taken keeping in view Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's instruction to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Chandigarh based company P&R infra have already been blacklisted by the government as it brought shame to India's preparation for CWG.
The bridge will now save the spectators from an extra 1 kilometer walk to enter the stadium.
every second of my life,I thank Indian army as they save our nation in any critical situations. This is all taking place because we have very competent engineers in the army and they are known to deliver good stuff on time.
But the sad part of the story is that, the army is called in whenever there is an emergency and quickly forgotten once the job is over.

"Phew...Finally The Athletes Are Coming".. Thank U PM

These pictures on bbc website have become the latest issue of embarrasment for India. The pictures show filth and muck in the apartment bathrooms, gaping holes in the corridors, stagnant water at the entrances of the village.Foreign delegates saw these flats and withdrew their names from the games.

Last minute cleaning drive preceeded the arrival of foreign delegates. But somehow, things finally appeared to look up for the crisis hit CWG with Australia,England and New Zealand confirming participation .After days of indecision 0z and kiwis gave a thumbs up to the athletes village, which they had dubbed filthy and uninhabitable just couple of days ago.Yet,a few Australian athletes checked into the village despite of previous concerns about hygiene..Now the flats are spacious, which is good for a major games, but there are bits and pieces to be done to bring them up to standard. The first batch of English athletes including their hockey and lawn bowling squad, landed in Delhi but headed to hotels instead of the games village as their living area was not ready yet. They are expected to move to the village by Monday.
The CWG organising commiittee pulled up their socks a day after PM Manmohan Singh directed all those involved in the games preparations to ensure that everything was being done,to ensure the sucess of the mega sporting event.
Minister of the state Prithviraj Chavan said,"with only few days left the pm took personal initiative saying that no stone should be left unturned,to see that we succesfully conduct the games".
Mike Fennell inspected the village and noted considerable improvements.Dikshit held a cabinet minister meeting and told them to be on their toes.CM asked them to ensure the city put up a good show.

Mr Kalmadi please finish all the work that needs to be done as soon as possible, but before the D-day,so that we indians can proudly host Commen Wealth Games insipte of all the mishappenings

CWG Bridge is falling down, Falling down, falling down.

With security worries at an all-time high after Sunday's attack on two foreign tourists, Tuesday brought a shameful news for the organizers.A new foot over-bridge near the main venue of the Games, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, collapsed, injuring 23 laborers out of which 5 are critically injured.Chandigarh-based company P&R Infra projects Ltd was given the tender for construction of this bridge for Rs 10.34 crores.

According to  Sheila Dixit, "the bridge was just meant for the spectators, not for the players or officials. We will find another way to work things out for the spectators". WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THIS MRS CM?.
I am actually speechless over the comment. What if the bridge would have collapsed during the event?
The loopholes are now clearly visible in the games preparations.India has become the topic of discussion as well as a joke all across the globe.Where the entire bloc of participating countries is not at all haapy with the SO called "world class games village", our government is still blowing the trumpet about it. I really don't know what class are they talking about, because when a bridge collapses like this, then the work is definitely third class.Instead of improving India's image ,the games preparations have just worked in the opposite way.
What a shame, that the guests have to go through all the bad experience!!.
Can government ever follow its own guidelines.????I dont think so.!!! One side it is telling people to be good citizens and improve India's image in the eyes of her guests and on the other hand itself spoling it!!!!(AAMIR KHAN ADVERTISEMENT-Atithi Devo Bhavah).

IS CWG JINXED??

'May be or may be not'.There are a series of happenings affecting CWG preparations currently.Earlier,a shoot out at jama masjid raised a question on the security and now,its the turn of the hygiene.
Australia's swimming coach has advised his team to be cautious on their visit to India.According to him,if one can get sick after visiting a western style country, then the subcontinent has bugs which they have no resistance to.They are going to live with 7000 or 8000 people, all of whom have different hygiene habits.so to keep things like vomiting and diarrhea (from over powering months of preparations) at bay,Australian team has taken all the preventive measures. They have given hand sanitizing gel, probiotics to boost immunity and long sleeved shirts, long trousers and bug repellent plus mosquito zappers to gaurd against diseases like dengue and malaria.

Well, this may seem to us as a 'contrast' to all the arrangements done by the CWG OC to ensure a hygenic environment. The dinning area, spread over 3,000 square km, has counters serving cuisines of Western, Asian, African, Italian and Indian flavours, besides having separate counters for vegetarian food, salads, juices, snacks and sweet dishes. It is designed in such a way that it will cater to 2300 people at a time. The athletes would have the option to choose from six different types of cuisines of various countries with 120 'healthy' dishes on display everyday.

In all 5,00,000 meals would be served during the whole event. There would be 250 chefs, including five from Malaysia, Africa, London and two from Australia. Hygiene would be the top priority and every food item and water sample would have to go through the layers of food safety monitors,"said Rick Aylett, Director of the Delaware North Companies, the catering company for the CWG.
(http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/events-tournaments/commonwealth-games/top-stories/Games-Village-all-set-to-host-athletes-from-across-the-globe/articleshow/6567485.cms)

CWG OC has done a commendable job to achieve high standards of hygiene and no participating country should worry about it.All the measures have been taken, keeping in mind the health of athletes.

"WE ARE THERE FOR YOU"-CWG OC AND NSG

The security officials of CWG received a strongly worded warning from Australia after the capital witnessed shooting incident outside Jama Masjid on 19th Sept. The updated travel bulletin from Australia's foreign department said,"There is a high risk of terrorist attack in New Delhi."But, Australia a day before the Jama Masjid attack said that it would not withdraw its athlete from the event.
Expressing his concern and views,CWG federation chief  Mike Fennel said that the Delhi game security was a concern for many countries and their apprehensions must be addressed.

Kalmadi while addressing the media said,"I have not got a single call from any Commonwealth country expressing apprehensions about security (of the athletes after yesterday's firing). This (firing) was not a Games related incident. It happened in Jama Masjid and the police are looking into it. It's not a major incident."

Indian government did a commendable job by making a special tight security arrangement for the Games and  deploying of personnel from the elite commando force of the country,National Security Guard(NSG) to ensure safety of the athletes.71 nations have expressed their happiness on the efforts of Indian government to ensure safety of every single person involved in CWG.
Even though the security measures have been taken by OC of CWG ,they should not become care-free regarding the highly important issue of safety and security of the guests.People should help Delhi police by being alert and vigilant against any suspicious, unidentified object.

"No Athlete Is Bigger Than The Games"

Absence of star athletes like Usain Bolt and Stephani Rice would not take the sheen away from the Delhi CWG, feels Australia's shooter Russell Mark.
The Australian, is praising India's Ronjon Singh Sodhi, who has been training under him for a while now.He had earlier trained Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore before the Athens Olympics in which the Indian won a silver.
"He (Sodhi) is one of the most improved shooters if you look at the last four years. He still has his best years ahead of him and will be a tough person to beat in this year's Commonwealth Games and the London Olympics (2012)," said Mark.

Mark has a gold in double trap from Atlanta Olympics,a silver from the Sydney Olympics and again a gold medal from Melbourne Commonwealth Games to his credit. He does not mind coming to India for the Games and has also rubbished concerns about security measures during the extravaganza.
The security for the Commonwealth Games test event in March was very strict and that did cause us some concern. We have not been told officially of any security problems from our team management, so I'm assuming the Indian authorities have taken care of things," he said.
The Australian also felt that controversies surrounding the Games will have no bearing on the athletes' performances."I don't think athletes get involved in any political controversies. If they do they will not win," Mark said.

This is the true sportsman spirit that every player must have.If security reasons are pulling them away from participating in CWG then they must think twice.Players and their respective country sports board should trust the host country's preparations. The players should try to make this event successful rather than being absent.

RAFAEL NADAL:HISTORY IN MAKING

Rafael Nadal is going to need a new goal.
The 24-year-old Spaniard capped his career Grand Slam on Monday night in New York, winning a rain-delayed U.S. Open final against Novak Djokovic, 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. Nadal becomes just the seventh player to win all four Grand Slams in a career and only the second to also have an Olympic gold medal to his credit.
Winning the Open had been Nadal's ultimate goal since returning from a knee injury last year. He retooled his game to fit the hard courts at Flushing Meadows and it paid off. Rafa lost only one set in the tournament and, other than a brief moment after the two-hour rain delay Monday night, his victory in New York never seemed in doubt.
Nadal has three more Slams than Roger Federer did at the same age and now it's realistic to wonder whether he can top Federer's record of 16 Slams. Federer isn't done winning yet, but if Rafa stays healthy he's bound to get close to Fed's record and get in the discussion for greatest-of-all-time honors.
If Nadal continues to play his game with dedication, the day is not far when he would be The Top Seed. All he needs to do is keep his game strong and himself fit.His hardwork is definitley worth an appreciation for he went one step ahead of Rod Laver(who won the slams on two different surfaces) by winning the slams on three different surfaces. If he wants to become the greatest contender to win all the Grand Slams,he needs to win the Australian Open. This would give him the so called 'Serena Slam'(holding the title to all four Slams at once, but not in a calender year).
In his post-match comments, Djokovic said Rafa is currently the best player in the world. By the time his career is over, he may be the greatest who ever lived.

CWG Song Is Good,But Is It Worth 5 Crores??

Oscar winning Music Composer AR Rehman launched the theme song of Common Wealth Games 2010 at Kingdom Of Dreams in Gurgaon.
The music maestro has not been able to create that 'magic' and bring in the "wow" factor in the much awaited song. "O Yaaro,Yeh India Bula Liya"has not been able to live up to the expectations of the people.

It took six months for him to compose the song which does not even justify to the quality of output.Though the instrumental part of it is something to be applauded for but,the lyrics have pulled the song down.

Even the officials are not satisfied and happy with the work of Rehman.
V.K Malhotra executive board member of CWG committee feels that the song has fallen short of expectation and is disappointed.
Former Sports Minister Shahnawaz Hussain said,"I Respect Rehman For What He Has Achieved But The Track Simply Does Not Excite Me.No One In The OC Likes It Except Perhaps Suresh Kalmadi".

Rehman created a beautiful blend of Indian and western music, using sitar,dhol,electric-bass guitar and drums together. The song starts with a great pace, crashes down in the middle with some boring music and lyrics but picks up at the end with the dancing beats of dhol. The signature words "Lets Go" with a guitar and drums at the back are very energizing and motivating.

Little changes in the song would have made it far better. To make it worth 5 crore there should have been the fusion of Sukhwinder Singh,Shaan with AR Rehman himself. The lyrics of the  song should have been composed either by Gulzar or Javed Akhtar which could have made the song more simple and powerful.

Rehman, should think of recomposing the song only if he wants it to surpass 'Wakka Wakka' sung by Shakira for Fifa World Cup 2010.

VROOOOMMMMM.....!!!!! @ 16

How about driving a Formula 1 car at the age of 16?

Nabil Jeffri made a motor sport history by becoming the youngest to drive one of the world's fastest racing car.He is the member of Air Asia Driver Development Programme who also participated in the Pitstop Practice of Lotus Car Racing Team.

The team owner,Tony Fernandes himself offered him the chance to drive the car in an official test.He performed incredibly well and kept Tony's faith.

It must be astonishing and weird for Nabil that, Pro F1 drivers shared their thrilling experiences of acceleration and braking of the car with him.

If I put myself in his shoes, then for me it would be an adventurous and out of the world experience to drive the car.I am quiet amazed with the skill of Nabil.
I am sure that if he drives like this, by putting in hardwork and commitment,he surely has the qualities to be the next 'Hamilton' or 'Schumi'.

All the best to Nabil who has committed to work hard and join the F1 grid.

Pakistan Match Fixing Scandal...Extraordinary and Heartbreaking

It felt like a cruel joke on Pakistan fans and cricket lovers worldwide, when Pakistan player Salman Butt was allegedly named as 'The Ringleader'.

Mazhar Majeed a London based Pak businessman asked Pakistan players to deliver 3 no balls at exact points in the match as per decided by the match fixer for which he was given 15000 pounds.
Players who were caught in this scandal :Alman Butt,Mohd Asif,Mohd Aamer,Kamran Akmal.

Veenu Malik,ex girlfriend of Asif once said in the interview that, Mohd Asif had link with Indian bookies which was known by  PCB, yet they remained quiet.During their Australian tour Asif on loosing against Australia said to her that Pakistan will not win untill 2010,when she jokingly said that at least win 1 match. She finally said that all pakistan players and officials have links with bookies and are involved in the match fixing.

According to me this entire episode is disgusting, pathetic and highly unprofessional. This incident depicts a clear picture that love for money bulldozed the true spirit of cricket. On seeing this disgraceful activity of Pak players and PCB,  ICC should kick out the entire team from international cricket for 1 year.
For Veenu, she will be branded as unpatriotic and will face difficulties staying in Pakistan.

Indian batsman Sachin commented on this that it leaves a bad impression and shame  to the game of  cricket. He added up saying, that it is something one would erase and make sure cricket heads in the right direction so that it helps cricket to  grow well across the globe.
